Think passing your fire alarm service means you’re fully compliant? Not quite. A valid maintenance certificate doesn't cover your legal duty to manage safety. Under the RRO 2005, the Responsible Person must conduct a fire risk assessment evaluating all risks, not just equipment. PAS 79 supports this by requiring a holistic review of procedures and building usage. A serviced alarm is great, but without a current risk assessment identifying escape routes and hazards, you’re still vulnerable.
