Do schools need a fire risk assessment?

Yes. All education premises must have a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment under the RRO 2005. The responsible person — usually the governing body or local authority — must ensure it is current and acted upon.

Do you assess pupils with additional needs?

Yes. Our assessors review Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) for pupils and staff who need assistance, alongside assembly arrangements and detection, to ensure everyone can evacuate safely.

How much does a school fire risk assessment cost?

Schools and colleges are generally priced on the Enhanced tiers by size and number of buildings: from £849, rising for larger multi-building sites. The quote form confirms your exact price.

Schools, colleges and education settings have a duty to protect large numbers of pupils, staff and visitors, often across multiple buildings. A thorough fire risk assessment covers classrooms, halls, science and technology areas, and clear evacuation procedures. HawkSwift produces education-sector reports that satisfy governors, the Fire Authority and your insurers. This page is tailored specifically to graphic design studios premises.

Graphic design studios present distinct fire hazards due to high-density electrical equipment, including powerful workstations, printers, and servers, which increase electrical load and potential overheating. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the 'responsible person' must ensure these electrical systems are maintained to prevent danger. A competent assessor will specifically inspect the condition of power cables and sockets behind desks and under raised flooring, checking for daisy-chained extension leads that could overload circuits and constitute a breach of fire safety duties.
